SEO, Search Engine Optimization
Like the tree in the forest, if nobody finds your web site, is it really there? Search engine optimization(SEO) to the metaphysical rescue.
Organic search engine optimization is the art and science of providing the correct information to the ever changing algorithm of the search engines. This information is provided through your web site through meta information, html and page titles, keywords, image alt tags, heading tags, content copy, significant links, carefully crafted landing or silo pages and other more nefarious tricks practiced by the less than scrupulous black hats of SEO.
We won't get into the black arts of SEO since it could ultimately put your web site and business at risk by being banned from the search engines. Buzzdog Creative, like any reputable SEO provider will not condone or employ these tactics. Bruce Clay, of Bruce Clay Inc., one of the leading SEO tool creators, teachers and SEO firms created an SEO Code of Ethics which we believe should be the guide for any SEO provider.
"It is not the job of SEO to make pigs fly; it is the job of SEO to genetically re-engineer the site so that it is an eagle."
Bruce Clay Inc.
The key word(pun intended) for SEO is patience. Six or seven years ago a typical search query returned 50,000 results. Since the majority of those sites were not optimized or optimized well, getting your site ranked highly was not significantly difficult. Today a similar two word search averages over 250.000 results. Six years ago the spiderbots could not read a dynamic page (page where the URL is whipped up according to the variable FORM elements available to and chosen by the user). Today more and more of these hidden pages are being indexed and consequently it would not be completely irrational to predict near-future search results could be in the millions for the same two word search. So, with the number of searchable pages increasing exponentially, is it possible for your site to reach top 10 placement on search engine results pages(SERP)? Yes, possible, but if anyone guarantees they can make you number one, or even place you in the top 10 SERP, buy their big Golden Gate bridge first. It would be a better investment.
So if there are no shortcuts and no guarantees, what can Buzzdog Creative do for you?
First we need to get to know each other, establish business and web site goals and how to measure their success and failures. If we are creating a new site this will be a natural part of the process. If we are looking at an already existing site we go to the next step.
We analyze. We perform a sort of web site audit in which we analyze performance problems and provide recommendations in writing.
Next, answer your questions and where possible show you why your site is performing poorly in the search engine results pages.
And then if directed, Buzzdog Creative will go to work to improve all the meta tags, html and page titles, page descriptions, image alt tags, copy, headings, indexing for search engines(Google, MSN,Yahoo), Directory submission(DMOZ), sitemaps, web development glitches, etc., until we achieve our goals. But honestly this won't happen overnight, or next week. Depending on the size and scope or your site it may require months. It is one of those zillion-piece-puzzles to solve with no picture of it to work from and we will have to make a lot of the pieces ourselves.
If you and your business simply can't wait for the organic search engine optimization process you may want to consider the SEM services offered by Buzzdog Creative. It can cost you a little or a lot depending on your business and the popularity of the keywords used to find it. This could jump start your business goals while we pursue the organic SEO process.
